Retired Air Force general shares how service dogs transform veterans’ lives

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Retired Brigadier General Scott Wiggins visited WBRC with his service dog, Bear, to talk about the life-changing support Patriot Service Dogs provides to veterans.

Wiggins spent 27 years in the Air Force. He said that when he got back home after all of his years of service, some things just didn’t feel right.

“The Air Force does a phenomenal job at training us to do what we do,” said Wiggins. “They’re just not equipped, nor should they be, to necessarily deal with the things you did while you were out doing combat.”…
