TOWSON, MD—Hundreds of students across Baltimore County walked out of their classrooms on Friday to protest federal immigration enforcement policies, leading to one arrest and several temporary road closures throughout the area.
The demonstrations, which were not sanctioned by Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS), prompted a coordinated response from the Baltimore County Police Department and the Office of Emergency Management. Officials remained in close communication throughout the day to monitor the protests, which occurred at various schools including Dulaney, Towson, Perry Hall, Kenwood, and Woodlawn High Schools, among others.

In a joint statement released Friday evening, authorities noted that while school administrators and police officers were present on campuses and in surrounding neighborhoods, the vast majority of participants demonstrated peacefully and remained on school property.
