Measles spreads in the Carolinas; NC confirms more cases as SC reports 44 new infections since Tuesday

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Measles cases continue to rise in the Carolinas as health officials urge vaccination and monitoring for symptoms.

In North Carolina, health officials reported two new cases, bringing the state’s total to 17 cases since December 2025. One person has been hospitalized.

Cases have been reported across several counties. Locally, there are three cases in Mecklenburg County, two in Cabarrus County, and one in Lincoln County.
