NY weather update: Cold weather advisory for part of New York until Monday morning – wind chills as low as -29

An updated cold weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Sunday at 8:39 p.m. in effect until Monday at 10 a.m. for Herkimer, Fulton, Montgomery, Schoharie, Schenectady, Albany, Rensselaer, Greene, Columbia, Ulster and Dutchess counties.

The weather service says to anticipate, “Very cold wind chills as low as 15 to 29 degrees below.”

“The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes,” describes the weather service. “Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.”
