Cleveland State Community College delivered a complete performance Friday afternoon at Cougar Field, defeating Vincennes University 15–5 behind explosive offense and strong pitching. The Cougars used patience at the plate, aggressive base running, and timely power to pull away after a close start and secure the win.
Cleveland State broke the game open with a five-run fifth inning and followed with five more runs in the seventh. The Cougars finished the day with 15 runs on eight hits, drawing 12 walks and stealing nine bases to keep constant pressure on the Vincennes defense.
Sophomore third baseman Kwade Carver led the offensive charge with a standout performance, going 3-for-5 with three home runs and seven RBIs. Carver accounted for nearly half of Cleveland State’s runs and energized the Cougars’ dugout with each swing.
