HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) — The longtime owner and former CEO of Hudsonville Ice Cream died Saturday, representatives for his family announced.
Denny Ellens, 70, owned Hudsonville and sat on its board from 2003 until his death, but retired as CEO in 2023. In a statement, his family called his death “unexpected” and asked for privacy.
“(Ellens) deeply believed in building a business grounded in integrity, quality, and service to others, and he took great pride in the West Michigan community we call home. His impact will be felt for generations, and we will miss him dearly,” the Ellens family said in a statement.
