Expect frigid temperatures at start of work week in the Piedmont Triad

PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — We have had a quiet but chilly Sunday across the Piedmont, some even saw a few snow flurries earlier this afternoon. As we begin the work week, temperatures will be downright frigid with low temperatures on Monday morning in the upper teens. Afternoon highs will still be on the cool side, around 42° under partly cloudy skies.

The first big story of the week will be the warmer temperatures for Tuesday. A southerly wind will warm temperatures up to near 62° with partly cloudy skies by Tuesday afternoon. This will be the first time we see 60° weather since January 11.

That warm-up will be short-lived as we dip back into the upper 50s by Wednesday with mostly cloudy skies and showers. Precipitation will be light and scattered, but with an ongoing severe drought, will take all the rainfall we can get…
