RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Too young to open their eyes, tiny enough to fit in the palm of your hand, newborn puppies require round-the-clock care to survive. A rescue here in the Triangle specializes in saving them, but those first moments are crucial.
Inside the Blazin’ Trails Bottle Babies Nursery, Kira Kroboth, a volunteer and puppy foster, feeds and burps 8-day-old Cricket. The tiny puppy has to eat every two hours around the clock, but Kroboth and Blazin’ Trails Bottle Babies founder, Shana Sommer, are relieved to see Cricket growing and getting stronger after she and her siblings had a rough start in life.
