Cliff jumpers rescued after getting stuck in high surf at Sunset Cliffs

OCEAN BEACH, Calif. (FOX /KUSI) — The San Diego Lifeguard confirmed four people were rescued from Sunset Cliffs Saturday afternoon after recreationally leaping off the cliff before becoming stuck.

Three of the jumpers were saved by cliff-rescue operations, while the fourth was rescued by a watercraft around 1:45 p.m., authorities said. One of the jumpers was reportedly taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the other three were not injured.

Lifeguards say the jumpers got stuck in the high surf along the coastline.

A high surf advisory is in effect in San Diego coastal areas until Sunday morning, with waves expected to reach up to 10 feet on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. NWS also says that high rip currents are expected…
