SAN DIEGO — The San Diego Police Department reports that the overall number of stolen vehicles fell citywide in 2025, but thieves targeted newer Jeeps and Toyota Tacomas more than ever. Specifically, model years 2020-2025 are being targeted.
SDPD data shows the Jeep Wrangler was the most stolen model of car in San Diego for the second year in a row, with 193 reports made to police.
