LSU to expand Wildlife Hospital, educate future generations on wildlife rehabilitation

The LSU Vet School houses the Wildlife Hospital of Louisiana, a rehabilitation center operating nonstop that handled around 2,000 cases last year, seeing over 150 different species.

It is the only dedicated and surgical facility for the care of wildlife in the state. But with cases increasing every year, Director of the Hospital Mark Mitchell is making an effort to expand beyond the current 350-square-foot room.
