Geismar parents plead not guilty in starvation death of 5-year-old boy

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A Geismar couple pleaded not guilty to charges related to the death of their 5-year-old son in court Thursday.

Marlon Perilloux, 33, and Raynisa Young, 27, were indicted on second-degree murder charges by an Ascension Parish grand jury.

Deputies responded to a reported medical emergency at a gas station where Marley Perilloux, 5, was found unresponsive around 9 p.m. New Year’s Day. According to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies started performing CPR while waiting for emergency services…
