Buddhist Monks’ 2,300 Mile Walk for Peace to Reach D.C. Tuesday

The Walk for Peace is a 2,300-mile Buddhist pilgrimage from Fort Worth, Texas, to Washington, D.C., led by 24 monks from the Hương Đạo Vipassana Bhavana Center, promoting peace, compassion, and mindfulness.

The journey began on October 26, 2025, and will conclude at our nation’s capital on February 10. The monks are accompanied by their rescue dog, Aloka, who has become a symbolic figure.

The monks have been documenting their travels on social media, with a growing following on Facebook and Instagram, and have received support from local communities and government officials, including proclamations from the governors of North Carolina and Virginia…
