Military genealogy program helps residents explore family service records

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – A local genealogy group invited residents to learn more about their family’s military history at a program at the Rockford Public Library.

The Winnebago-Boone County Genealogical Society hosted a presentation titled “Let’s do the Nuts and Bolts of Military Records” on Saturday at the Rockford Public Library’s East Branch. The program focused on how to find, order and interpret military service records to better understand the experiences of ancestors who served.
