Metropolitan Entertainment & Convention Authority will hold a topping-out ceremony February 16 to celebrate the placement of the final, highest beam in the CHI Health Center’s $200 million convention center expansion. The 90,000 sq. ft., 2-level addition on the east side features floor-to-ceiling glass walls and expands the number of meeting rooms from 16 to 41. Upon completion, CHI’s convention space will total 420,000 sq. ft. The existing convention center space will receive updates to flooring, woodwork and bathrooms.
The final beam has been signed by stakeholders, which is part of the topping-out tradition, and is ready for its big moment next week…
