A 35-year-old man was wounded by gunfire Saturday evening in what police say was a sudden sidewalk shooting in West Englewood. The attack happened around 7:15 p.m. on the 2000 block of East 71st Street, when an unknown person walked up and opened fire, striking the man multiple times. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was listed in fair condition, and Area One detectives are now handling the case.
