‘Home away from home’: Iconic Filipino bakery closes after 50+ years

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The family members behind an iconic Filipino bakery are retiring and closing for good on Monday after more than 50 years of serving the community.

Jesse and Remy Badua opened Jesse’s Coffee Shop and Restaurant in 1974, which evolved from a small family bakery to a community hub for Filipino immigrants in Hawaii.
