STARK COUNTY, Ohio — Jamie Triplett, the 39-year-old Canton man, who was found guilty of charges connected to the abduction of a woman at knifepoint, has learned his fate.
During a sentencing hearing on Monday, Triplett was sentenced to three years and six months in prison for charges connected to the September 2025 incident.
According to Stark County Common Pleas Court records, Triplett was found guilty on Feb. 5 on the following charges:
- 1 count of tampering with evidence
- 1 count of disrupting public services
- 1 count of aggravated menacing
- 2 counts of criminal damaging or endangering
Previously, in September 2025, Triplett had been indicted by a grand jury on multiple charges, including aggravated robbery, abduction, assault, and tampering with evidence.
PRIOR CONVICTION
Court records show this was not Triplett’s first run-in with the law. In 2012, he was convicted of rape and kidnapping and sentenced to 20 years in prison.
