So much snow, so little space

Marblehead is digging out from another foot (or so) or snow that hit Friday night and Saturday. That’s on top of the 21-plus inches that fell two weekends ago.

The town had its crews out Saturday trying to clear the roads so emergency vehicles could get through, which is the priority. The challenge? Where to put all the snow.

State regulations allow communities to dump snow in designated areas, but Marblehead’s potential sites are near freshwater wetlands and cannot be used, according to Marblehead Department of Public Works Supervisor Amy McHugh…
