ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Dozens showed up to a joint question-and-answer forum in Roanoke Saturday morning to voice concerns over water usage at the potential Google data center in Botetourt County, but many said they still left feeling dissatisfied.
“I feel like ecology did not come up nearly as often from the water authority’s side as I would have hoped to hear from people who are conserving our water source,” said SWVADCTA acting organizer Sean Koppel following the meeting.
The forum was hosted by the Western Virginia Water Authority, and local advocacy group Southwest Virginia Data Center Transparency Alliance (SWVADCTA), in an effort to bring greater transparency to the public as questions over how much water the proposed data center would require annually for equipment cooling remain unanswered…
