Louisiana lawmakers seek to improve missing child alert systems

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Two Louisiana bills aim to make changes to how missing child alerts are issued after a high-profile case involving a New Orleans boy.

House Bill 74, authored by Rep. Michael Echols (R-Monroe), aims to create a “Spectrum Alert” system that would be issued to the public when a child with autism goes missing.
