For 73 years, many first meetings at The Kollege Klub have led to weddings — and a place in the KK’s extended family.
On a weekend morning last October, Bruce Meier was where he’s been on many such fall mornings for more than 50 years: behind the bar at The Kollege Klub on the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus, getting ready for another football Saturday.
Ohio State was in town to play the Badgers. Once the doors opened, Meier — who decades ago bought the KK, as it is often known, from his father, John, before selling it in 2011 to his son, Jordan — found himself chatting with a middle-aged couple from Ohio.
“We met here!” they enthused…
