Sports Office double feature: Hall of Fame boxer Holly Holm and CFFC Middleweight World Champion Chris Brown share what’s next in store for each of them

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Two legendary New Mexico fighters join Sports Director Van Tate in this Sports Office double feature to share insights from what’s to come in 2026 and prepping for the ring to navigating injuries and what’s happening behind the scenes during a fight.

First up, New Mexico boxing and MMA icon Holly Holm spoke with us prior to her January 3rd fight in San Juan, Puerto Rico against El Paso-based WBA International Champion Stephanie Han. Holm returned to boxing with her same grit and drive; she plans to keep that mindset and focus through the rest of the year. Here, she explains how her extensive experience in the ring helps her prepare during training, and the possibilities for the future beyond her combat career.

Then CFFC Middleweight World Champion Chris Brown talks to us about the reality of his most recent fight and his plans to be in the ring even more in 2026. He shares how his injuries changed his training methods and the thoughts running through his mind while in the ring.
