CLACKAMAS, Ore. (KPTV) – Healthcare workers and union members picketed outside Kaiser Permanente’s Sunnyside facility Monday morning, demanding the company return to negotiations for a national contract.
The informational picket began at 6 a.m. and was organized by the Oregon Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals. Workers said they are continuing to work while demonstrating to raise awareness about stalled contract negotiations.
The Oregon federation is part of a coalition of two dozen unions that negotiate with Kaiser on a national agreement. Union representatives said all member unions have reached tentative agreements on local contracts, but those cannot be finalized until a national agreement is reached…
