BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified a woman who died after she was allegedly assaulted by her son last summer.
Sukhwinder Kaur, 47, of Bakersfield was found in the 800 block of Taylor Street on June 30, 2025, according to the coroner’s office. Her autopsy showed her death was caused by blunt force trauma of the head and manner was homicide.

Investigators searched for Vishal Mattu, 24, according to the police department. Mattu turned himself into a police station in Yuba City on Jan. 15.
Mattu allegedly told officials he killed his mother, later identified as Kaur. He was arrested on suspicion of murder and booked into Kern County Jail…
