CANTON ‒ A 39-year-old Canton man has been sentenced to 42 months in prison for two felonies and three misdemeanors in a connection with a case that started as a reported knifepoint abduction in September in Jackson Township.
Stark County Common Pleas Judge Chryssa N. Hartnett sentenced Jamie Triplett on Feb. 9 for tampering with evidence, disrupting public services, aggravated menacing and two counts of criminal damaging or endangering.
A jury found Triplett not guilty of abduction, a felony of the third degree. The jury did not decide on aggravated robbery and aggravated menacing charges because Hartnett granted a defense motion for acquittal on those charges.
