ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) – Law enforcement took a driver into custody Monday following a pursuit and crash on Interstate 81.
At about 11:15 a.m., Virginia State Police troopers attempted to stop a suspect vehicle traveling north on I-81 at the 241 mile marker, according to a VSP release. When the vehicle refused to stop, VSP said, a pursuit began.
The pursuit continued north until the 244 mile marker, where the suspect vehicle tried to split traffic, hitting a tractor trailer and a pickup truck. The car then overturned and came to rest in the interstate’s median, according to the VSP release.
The suspect driver was treated and taken into custody, and the incident remains under investigation…
