Suspect arrested after road rage incident turns violent

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C (WCIV) — North Charleston police arrested a 33-year-old man Sunday evening after an alleged road rage incident escalated into a physical assault and racially motivated intimidation.

At around 5:40 p.m, North Charleston Police responded to the 4000 block of Gullah Avenue to a reported road rage incident, which involved a suspect, later identified as Lucas Ezequiel Prestera of North Charleston, who allegedly became angry and began driving aggressively.

Prestera allegedly began following the victims while waiving a handgun out the window, according to the police report. He later pulled in front of the victims on Gallah Avenue, slammed on his brakes and approached the passenger side of the victim’s car, where he punched a female passenger multiple times and grabbed her clothing while shouting racial slurs, the report indicates…
