11 charged in SC narcotics trafficking investigation

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WSPA) – Eleven people were charged and sentenced in a narcotics trafficking investigation that led to the fatal overdose of a young mother and man.

A press release from the Office of the South Carolina Attorney General said 11 defendants pleaded guilty and were charged in the investigation known as “Devil in Disguise.” According to the release, three of the defendants were directly connected to fentanyl-related overdose deaths.

One of the main distributors in the case, Amanda Ray Massengale, pleaded guilty to distribution of fentanyl (conspiracy), trafficking fentanyl in first degree (conspiracy), two counts of trafficking fentanyl 4-14 grams, and two counts of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, according to reports…
