SCDC employee arrested for DUI in high school hit-and-run

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) — A South Carolina Department of Corrections officer was arrested on DUI and hit-and-run charges after deputies responded to a report of a wrong-way driver who damaged a gate at a high school on Saturday, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities identified the driver as Naji C. Hughes, who was alone in the vehicle. Hughes was later transported to jail and charged with DUI, first offense refusal, and hit-and-run involving property damage.
