EVANSVILLE, Ind. — A Vanderburgh County man was arrested on multiple charges following a motor vehicle crash Sunday afternoon at the intersection of U.S. Highway 41 and Rusher Creek Road, according to a report from the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday.
The report stated the incident occurred on February 8, 2026, at approximately 11:36 a.m. Deputies were dispatched to the scene for a reported motor vehicle crash with injuries. Upon arrival, an Indiana State Police trooper was already on scene speaking with the involved drivers.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, investigators identified Evan Luigs as one of the drivers involved. The report stated the responding deputy smelled a strong odor of alcoholic beverages coming from Luigs and said he observed evasive behavior during their interaction.
