MADISON COUNTY, ALABAMA, Ala. — The Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals has upheld the capital murder conviction of a Madison County man accused of killing his wife, rejecting an appeal that sought to overturn the guilty verdict.
David Telton Tolbert, 51, of Toney, was convicted in Madison County Circuit Court on May 8, 2025, and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. The ruling, issued Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, leaves the conviction and sentence in place.
