MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two tax preparers pleaded guilty to conspiracy and preparing false tax returns for clients on Monday, according to the United States Attorney’s Office of the Western District of Tennessee.
Robert Wells, 54, and Andre Wilson, 54, both operated Wells and Wilson Financial, a Memphis-based tax preparation business, from at least 2019 through 2022.
The attorney’s office said that Wells and Wilson conspired to defraud the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and both men prepared returns for clients with false materials.
