Vigil planned outside Tenney office

Community members plan to gather in Canandaigua for a candlelight vigil and peaceful protest tied to a nationwide action.

Organizers say the local “Die-In” will take place Sunday at 4 p.m. outside the Canandaigua office of Rep. Claudia Tenney at 2375 Rochester Road.

The event is part of a national series of vigils and protests connected to the Disappeared in America Project. Organizers say the gathering aims to honor people affected by the actions of federal immigration agencies and to show solidarity with immigrant communities.

Locally, participants will hold a candlelight vigil, read a list of names, and take part in a silent demonstration. Attendees are encouraged to lie down or remain still for one minute per name, totaling about 50 minutes…
