Kaiser gives update on local union negotiations as strike enters third week

(FOX 5/KUSI) — Hundreds of health care workers, including pharmacists and laboratory workers, have joined the nurses’ strike at various Kaiser Permanente locations across San Diego County.

On Monday, the strike by the United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals (UNAC/UHCP) entered its third week in California and Hawaii, protesting what they deem as “bad-faith bargaining” and “unfair labor practices” by Kaiser.

Frontline workers are accusing the health care system of refusing to address staffing shortages and workforce retention, leaving patients waiting longer for care.
