A Jordanian man residing in Lucas County has been sentenced to more than two years in federal prison for illegally possessing a gun as an unlawful alien, federal prosecutors announced.
Husam Al Najjar, 43, overstayed the visa under which he entered the United States in 2014 and entered in early 2015 into what prosecutors said was a fraudulent marriage with an American citizen to try to gain permanent resident status. Immigration forms filed by that wife were never approved, prosecutors said.
Federal agents investigating Al Najjar “discovered he took multiple videos and photos of himself holding or using a variety of firearms that he posted on his social media accounts,” the statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio said.
