CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. (WECT) – A boat owner faces felony littering charges after abandoning a vessel in waters near Carolina Beach that later washed ashore at Freeman Park.
The vessel was abandoned Dec. 6, 2025, and drifted onto Freeman Park the following day, according to a press release from the Town of Carolina Beach. Charges were filed Jan. 27, 2026.
