Before the Worcester Expressway shadowed the neighborhood, before the taxman shut down the place, Michael Viscetto ran a popular bar at 40 Grafton St.

For 30 years, Mike’s Cafe was a no-frills stop for residents of lower Grafton Street and workers from nearby factories. The bar was a quick stroll from the Osgood-Bradley and Walker Shoe buildings, the tenants having changed over the years.
