PEARLAND, Texas — Eight individuals have been arrested in connection with a large-scale retail theft operation in the Pearland and Greater Houston area, according to the Pearland Police Department.
The investigation, which began on November 30, 2025, was initiated after three female suspects were linked to a theft at Academy Sports and Outdoors in Pearland. As the investigation unfolded, the Pearland Police Department Special Investigations Unit (SIU) discovered these suspects were involved in similar thefts at multiple Academy Sports and Outdoors locations. Further inquiries revealed a broader network of suspects, including five family members, targeting various retailers such as Dick’s Sporting Goods, Macy’s, JC Penney, Burlington, TJ Maxx, and Home Goods.
Over two months, the SIU identified and confirmed a total of eight suspects allegedly involved in stealing merchandise and reselling it for quick cash. On January 28, 2026, Pearland Police executed three residential search warrants, recovering over $20,000 worth of stolen merchandise…
