Waller school bus loaded with students crashes, injuring one, ISD says

A Waller ISD school bus with 17 students on board crashed Monday morning, sending one student to the hospital with minor injuries, according to law enforcement and school officials.

A Chevrolet Silverado collided with the bus in the area of Betka and Kickapoo roads in Waller at around 7:10 a.m., according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. The students attend Waller Junior High School, and aside from the injured student, they made it to school on another bus, Sarah Marcus, the ISD’s chief communications officer, said.

The bus had the right of way, but “slightly foggy conditions” could have contributed to the collision, according to the sheriff’s office. The pickup truck driver was taken to the hospital for evaluation, and the injured student’s parent had requested he go too, according to law enforcement…
