From February 9 to 11, 1994, a major ice storm brought destruction to Arkansas. Southeast Arkansas was hit the hardest. Some were without power for weeks, as some communities reported that all their power poles had been knocked down due to the heavy ice.
This same ice storm brought destruction due to accumulating ice to other parts of the Southern U.S., like Mississippi, Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, South Carolina, North Carolina, and West Virginia.
