ST. LOUIS — Surrounded by family, friends, and familiar faces, Lela McSpadden marked a milestone few ever reach: her 101st birthday.
Northside Youth and Senior Service Center celebrated the occasion Monday by officially recognizing “Lela McSpadden Day,” honoring the lifelong St. Louis resident whose life reflects faith, service and the importance of staying connected to community.
Born in 1925, McSpadden says her secret to longevity is to “Take care of yourself, keep your faith strong, and stay around people who make you laugh,” she said…
