The third of seven defendants has pleaded guilty in an alleged scheme to defraud a U.S Small Business Administration program.
Barbara Sanders of San Antonio admitted to fraudulently receiving about $214,775 from the alleged scheme involving the SBA’s HUBZone program, which is intended to support small-business growth in historically underutilized business zones by awarding federal contracts to companies based in the zones.
She pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud, which carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, up to three years of post-release supervision and a maximum fine of $250,000. Her plea agreement doesn’t require her to make restitution…
