(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Popular local ice cream shop BJ’s Velvet Freez is opening a second location, according to the shop’s owner, Stan Kelley.
Kelley confirmed to FOX21 News that a second location is in the works, though an official opening date has not yet been determined.
BJ’s Velvet Freez opened in 1954 as a Tastee Freez franchise, and although it has changed names and hands over the years, its menu has remained largely unchanged, as it continues to offer all-American favorites, including hamburgers, soft serve, shakes, malts, and sundaes. The restaurant celebrated an incredible landmark in 2024: 70 years of serving the Colorado Springs community.
