An iconic pan-Asian Massachusetts restaurant is expanding for the first time in its 70-plus year history with an exciting new venue in a very different location.
Saugus’ beloved Kowloon restaurant has been a Massachusetts landmark since the 1950s, but this year it will launch its first expansion location and serve its Asian favorites from an equally iconic new spot.
Though the internet wanted us all to believe that a Boston food court was going to be home to a new Kowloon location, it’s actually a beachside tiki bar that will serve the restaurant’s scorpion bowls and mai tais in 2026.
Though Kowloon has remained a single restaurant for decades, owners now appear ready to expand.
