2 Birmingham women charged with trafficking methamphetamine

HOMEWOOD, Ala. (WIAT) — Two Birmingham woman have been charged with drug crimes and were arrested after a search warrant was executed in December.

According to the Homewood Police Department, officers and federal agents served the search in the 1500 block of Warrior Road in Birmingham in relation to a narcotics case originating in Homewood. Officers collected 28 pounds of methamphetamine, $13,000 in cash and four firearms. Police determined one of the firearms was stolen.

Jessica Yvonne Moore, 39, and Destiney Renee Jones, 35, were detained. Moore and Jones were charged with trafficking methamphetamine and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Moore was also charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

According to Jefferson County Jail records, the woman were booked and released in December. The Homewood Police Department stated more federal criminal charges connected to the case are pending…
