Mother faces charges for leaving child in running car, police say

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Police arrested a woman for allegedly leaving her child alone in a running vehicle outside a Target on Sunday.

The North Charleston Police Department responded to the store on Rivers Avenue before 10:30 a.m. after a witness reported that a child had been left alone in a vehicle for five to ten minutes.

After further investigation, the agency states that surveillance video obtained at 9:29 a.m. showed the suspect entering the store while her vehicle was unlocked, running, and with the keys in the ignition…
