Parents grateful after JFRD rescues unresponsive 2-year-old son from water

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The parents of a 2-year-old are grateful after the swift action by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department crews to rescue their unresponsive son from water.

On Feb. 3, a crew from Station 53 rushed to Pritchard Road and found 2-year-old Hoke unresponsive. After immediate CPR by his mother and an off-duty JSO officer and life support care from JFRD, he began crying on the way to the hospital.

A few hours later, Hoke was alert and moving around with no neurological impairment, JFRD said…
