Providence Goes Boombastic For Shaggy

Just when you thought The Strand lineup couldn’t get any hotter, Shaggy has officially entered the chat.

The Grammy-winning reggae fusion star — yes, the voice behind “It Wasn’t Me,” “Angel,” and the forever-iconic “Boombastic” — is heading to Providence’s Strand Ballroom & Theatre for what should be a straight-up feel-good throwback party.

Speaking of throwbacks, longtime Fun 107 listeners might remember when Shaggy actually headlined one of our Monster Mash shows back in the day. According to Michael Rock, one of the biggest surprises was hearing his real speaking voice — apparently way more polished and proper than the gritty tone he leans into when he sings. Who knew?
