At 10:53 p.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 16, Montgomery police responded to a burglary at an occupied residence on Remy Court, Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of Detectives Francisco Roman Jr., Somerset County Sheriff Darrin Russo and Montgomery Township Chief of Police Silvio Bet said.
The caller reported hearing suspicious noises and observing broken glass from a window in the basement of the residence, authorities said. While on scene, officers located Devoris Daniels, 20, in the driveway of the residence, authorities said. Daniels refused to comply with the responding officer’s instructions to stop before fleeing on foot into the backyard of the residence, authorities said.
Officers in pursuit of the suspect observed that Daniels had re-entered the basement of the residence through a broken window and were able to apprehend him inside of the residence, where he was located hiding in a closet, authorities said…
